A new component has been added to the life skills course. The purpose of this programme is to help learners to understand the world of money in order to manage their personal finances.
In 2004 a group of Kolping students showed the desire to develop their skills in the arts and crafts, so as to give expression to the “inner self”. They also showed the need to socialise with each other after their hard skills training courses to obtain the momentum and spark created during their Kolping life skills course.
Expanded Public Works and Department of Labour Saamstaan Project
The year 2006 saw the Kolping Society of South Africa develop strong partnerships with the South African Government. The Department of Labour and the Department of Transport have both seen the merits and value of the KSA life skills programme. So much so that KSA was nominated as the life skills training provider for theses two departments’ SAAMSTAAN project.
